I noted that the last time I did a blog post was Christmas Eve and today happens to be Easter Sunday. So my promise to blog 'religiously' seems to have been fulfilled - ha, ha. Anyone who knows me will be aware that I am of a distinctly secular persuasion, so in fact, the dates are coincidental.

English primroses.
I ended last year by promising I had plans to revive the gardening in the spring - and so it begins.
Today I spent my happy hour mainly cleaning out the bird and bat boxes (because parasites can spread disease and we can all do without any more of that sort of thing). And sorting out some pallets to convert into raised beds for planting, very shortly.

Also, doing a bit of raking and sweeping, and a lot of general mooching and marvelling at the way things just spring up without any tending or assistance.

(These tulips will mainly be yellow. Why? Because Mrs J was the one who bought me tulip bulbs and she was very fond of the colour).
I have already planted three tubs of potatoes (in honour of my distant Irish roots, on St Patrick's Day) and I have some more busy chitting on my window sill. This year the plan is to go a bit bigger on the veg, so we will see.
Tomorrow the weather is forecast to be grim - it is a bank holiday, after all. So it felt good to get out there and make a bit of a start.
