Funny, isn't it, how that first flush of enthusiasm tends to wilt like an over-watered houseplant when it's cold outside and Facebook is calling.
But I am still determined! We're not at war (yet) so the whole garden is not being given over to edibles (which would probably be impossible anyway). I'm also going to try some things that I just like the look of (yes, it's as scientific and well-planned as that).
Here's one of my before-and-afters:

It's lavender, which is supposed to be good to have near a door. We have had a lavender there before but a severe frost killed it off.
Here's another before-and-after: the greenhouse.

And here's a plant I really like and hope will survive: a snakeshead fritillary. It's been there a few days now and hasn't died yet.

A news story today told how many garden centres are having to close, because their plants are simply rotting away and even online deliveries can't mitigate for that. This feels like a shame and a terrible waste. Surely putting them outside with an honesty box would be better than just letting things die? But... weird times, I suppose.
